Geostroy started construction of a Transfer Station for municipal waste in Kazanlak
The Transfer Station for deposition of municipal waste will serve the needs of Kazanlak, Pavel Banya and Maglizh municipalities. It is part of an integrated project for building a regional waste management centre in the region of Stara Zagora, financed under the Operational Programme Environment 2007-2013. The facility is built by Consortium GEODEPO DIMAS with leading partner Geostroy AD.
New installations using modern technologies for waste management and control are planned to be built. The construction works will be performed in four stages including infrastructure connections: power lines and rehabilitation and renovation of an access road, a transfer station site and its related facilities. Local and regional suppliers of materials and services will be involved in the construction process.
By building the transfer station, it is expected to reduce the transport costs for deposition of municipal waste to the regional non-hazardous waste landfill in Stara Zagora.
