Оn 25 March 2018, an official ceremony under the initiative INFRASTRUCTURE BULGARIA AWARDS 2018 was held to award the best of successfully completed infrastructure projects in the period from January 2016 to December 2017. City Media Group is the organizer of the initiative.

The projects were evaluated by an authoritative jury comprising 17 members - representatives of the EU Operational Programmes Transport, Regions of Growth and Environment, leading professional, academic and trade organizations in the sector. The jury awarded Sofia Metro Extension Project for being The Most Successful Decade Infrastructure Project in the period 2007-2017.

The Mayor of Sofia Yordanka Fandakova said that the most successful infrastructure and environmental project in Sofia – the Metropolitan Railway - has managed to improve the quality of life for Sofia’s citizens and especially to give them confidence that they are living in a modern European city.

Geostroy is among the contractors recognized for their most outstanding contribution to the top-quality construction of metro stations, underground tunnels and above-ground tunnels.

The awards were presented by Mrs Lilyana Pavlova, Minister for the Bulgarian Presidency of the Council of the EU, who said that the improved infrastructure in Bulgaria would have been impossible without the hard work of the awarded companies and the European solidarity and funding. She expressed her sincere gratitude and appreciation to the builders, designers, architects, and workers for their good practices and achievements in the sphere of infrastructure construction.

M.Eng. Konstantin Petkov, Project Manager in Geostroy Construction Department, received the award on behalf of the company.
