San Stefano Plaza Complex has successfully completed the BREEAM certification procedure (the most widely used global standard for sustainable buildings). The assessment process was conducted by the team of MOMERIN and continued nearly four years. The complex received BREEAM Excellent certificates for its three sections - residential, commercial and office. As a result of the efforts made by the team of San Stefano Property Development EAD, the complex has met the strict requirements of BREEAM 2013: a high level of energy efficiency, healthy living environment, increased ecological value of the landscape and surrounding areas, optimized waste management, environmentally friendly building materials, and a specifically developed Building User Guide. The consumption of energy and natural resources is optimized through RES systems, waste heat recovery from refrigeration for hot water, rainwater utilization, etc. An improved organization of the traffic flow has been introduced and bicycle parking racks have been provided.

Geostroy AD, as the site’s main contractor, actively contributed to achieving high level of excellence by strictly applying BREEAM 2013 requirements to all construction and assembly works executed on the site.

San Stefano Plaza is the first building complex to achieve BREEAM Excellent in Bulgaria and its residential section is the first one in Bulgaria that has been certified with a BREEAM Excellent rating.
