On 7 November 2019, Junior Achievement Bulgaria organized the initiative “Manager for One Day” for the 16th consecutive year. Geostroy AD joined the initiative by providing an opportunity for 10 students to become familiar with various aspects of its corporate management.

Senior professionals opened their doors to students from Henry Ford Vocational High School for Transport and Energy, Vocational High School of Electronics “John Atanasov” - Sofia, 33rd Secondary School “Alexander Pushkin”, 30th Secondary School “Bratya Miladinovi”, 33rd Foreign Language High School “Saint Sofia”, 73rd Foreign Language High School “Vladislav Gramatik”, 31st Secondary School for Foreign Languages and Management “Ivan Vazov”, and 134th Secondary School “Dimcho Debelyanov”.

On that day, Geostroy’s management was granted in the hands of the young managers who ran Human Resources Department, Analysis & Control Department, HSE & IMS Department, Geodesy & Land Surveying Department, Marketing & Tendering in Construction Department.

The young managers underwent OHS training and then continued working with their hosts. They participated in workshops facing the challenge to solve current problems and cases. By doing so, they saw firsthand how these departments were operating and how key management decisions were made.

Later that day, the students visited one of Geostroy’s most recent projects - a multifunctional complex in the outskirts of Sofia. The Project Manager M.Eng. Todor Mengov acquainted them with the preparation and implementation stages of this interesting and complex project. They learned a lot about the challenges faced by the team whose high professionalism, integrity and commitment were crucial to accomplish the project. At the end of the day, the young managers shared their impressions and received certificates of participation in the initiative from Mrs Todorka Vladimirova - Director of Human Resources Department.

Junior Achievement Bulgaria’s initiative “Manager for One Day” aims to give young people the opportunity for early career guidance and acquiring valuable skills in a real work setting in companies and organizations across the country.
