On 10 December 2019, Geostroy AD was honoured for the design and construction of Zemlyane Metro Depot at the National Contest ‘Building of the Year 2019’. The awards were presented at a gala dinner and awards ceremony gathering leading investors, construction companies, architects and other participants in the construction-investment process. Zemlyane Metro Depot won the Strategic Project Award in the category ‘Urban Development Projects’. Prizes were conferred to the Employer of the project - Mrs Yordanka Fandakova, Mayor of Sofia Municipality and Prof. Dr. Eng. Stoyan Bratoev, Executive Director of Metropoliten JSC, the Designer of the project – M.Eng. Manyo Manev, President of BIAS-M EOOD and the Contractor of the project – PhD Eng. Vladimir Vutov, Executive Director of Geostroy AD. PhD Eng. Vladimir Vutov expressed his sincere gratitude to the institutions, Geostroy’s team and partners for the successful implementation of the project.

The main purpose of Zemlyane Metro Depot is to serve Line 3 of Sofia Metro. It comprises a metro depot where the trains of Line 3 are stabled and maintained, and a bus depot where buses of Sofia public transport are sheltered, fueled and repaired. The metro depot accommodates a train shed and a repair shop, an administrative building, a train wash, a car park for employees, etc.

The awards were determined by a prominent jury composed of 30 respected representatives of professional communities. The jury was presided by M.Eng. Valentin Yovev, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works. Established in 2002, the National Contest “Building of the Year” is the most prestigious event organized by THE CITY Media Group under the auspices of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works with the support of industry associations in the spheres of investment projects, architecture and construction.
