Eight students served as One Day Managers at Geostroy
October 2024
Geostroy took part in the One Day Manager Initiative, during which eight students from schools in Sofia and across the country stepped into management roles within the company for a day. They gained first-hand insight into the daily operations of the Marketing and Bidding Department, as well as the Geodesy and Land Surveying Department. The experience offered them an inspiring glimpse into the responsibilities of managing a large-scale infrastructure project.
The students were able to learn more about Geostroy’s activities and gained a better understanding of the departments they were managing for the day. They observed how important decisions were made and how a construction project is executed in practice. At the end of the day, they visited the construction site of a new metro station at Obelya railway stop, including a connecting tunnel to Obelya Metro Depot, which is being executed by Geostroy. On-site, the students were introduced to the full metro project and attended a practical lecture on how drones are used in construction.
During the closing meeting, the young managers received Certificates of Participation in the initiative, presented by Mrs Todorka Vladimirova, Human Resources Director. She also informed the students about the career opportunities available at Geostroy, highlighting the company’s internship programme.
By participating in the One Day Manager Initiative, the company aims to inspire young people’s interest – because ‘Hand in hand, we are building the future with innovations and experience.’
