Geostroy participated in the 9-th Annual Conference “Strategic Infrastructure Bulgaria 2014”

Geostroy attended the 9-th Annual Conference “Strategic Infrastructure Bulgaria 2014” which was held on 27 March 2014 in Sofia Event Center. At this forum, representatives of institutions and leading companies in the sector discussed the current policies and trends in the implementation of infrastructure projects in Bulgaria.

Dipl.Eng. Stefan Vankov, Project Manager at Geostroy, presented the company’s activities and progress on one of its priority projects: the construction of Metro Station 16-I and an adjoining metro tunnel in the section from Mladost-I District to Business Park Sofia in Mladost-IV District. The construction is being executed by Consortium “Geometro B.P.” with leading partner Geostroy AD, and Geotechmin OOD and Metroproekt ООD as members. >
The project execution is based on full engineering. The metro tunnel is entirely built by using the so-called “Milan method”, while the metro station is constructed by applying both “cut-and-cover” and “Milan method”. A specific feature in the implementation of MS 16-I is that the tunnel passes beneath the Banishka riverbed and the existing sewage collector. The length of the whole metro section exceeds 1 km. An administrative area and a car park with more than 100 parking spaces are to be built there. The project activities also envisage the restoration of Alexander Malinov Boulevard and adjacent areas.
