We have built a modern wastewater treatment facility for mine effluents
Geostroy completed the construction of a new wastewater treatment facility for mine effluents in Ellatzite mine near Etropole. The commencement of technological trial runs was celebrated with an official ceremony on 05 September 2014. The new facility will be operated under an innovative for Bulgaria technology of the Japanese company Mitsubishi Materials Techno Corporation (MMTEC).
The construction of the new wastewater treatment facility started in May 2012. The specialists from Geostroy had to work under very difficult geological and weather conditions. In the course of project implementation, various challenging logistic and organizational issues were solved in view of the location of the facility and the need for building overhead and underground hydrotechnical structures for leading away and collecting mine wastewaters. Another challenge for the builders was to get used to the manner of working and culture of the Japanese specialists from MMTEC.
By building the wastewater treatment facility and the related system of hydrotechnical structures, Geostroy has once again proved its expertise and full capacity to implement complex projects. During the construction process the company strictly adhered to its environmental and social responsibility policies.
