At the 7th Annual Conference “Strategic Infrastructure Bulgaria 2012” Geostroy AD presented innovative solutions and technological challenges used in the construction of Metrostation 11 “James Bourchier”, part of the second metrodiameter. The conference was held on March 29, 2012 in Sofia.

The company participated in the panel for Sofia Metro Extension Project as a subcontractor of most construction works, Part Structural, for Metro Station 11-II and the adjoining tunnel and underground car-park.

For the first time in Sofia Metro construction, the technology for post-tensioning of reinforced concrete structures has been used in the execution of Metrostation 11-II. The method was applied both to the construction of the roof slab of the tunnel section, and to the floor slabs in the tunnel and the metrostation. The works have been performed under heavy traffic conditions.
