On 25 September 2015, the project for construction of LOT 3.3 on Struma Motorway between Kresna and Sandanski was officially launched in the presence of Mrs. Lilyana Pavlova, Minister of Regional Development and Public Works and Mr. Ivaylo Moskovski, Minister of Transport, Information Technology and Communications. The Contract for Design and Construction of Struma Motorway Lot 3.3 was signed by the Employer’s representative – the Executive Director of National Company Strategic Infrastructure Projects MSc. Assen Antov and a representative of Consortium “STRUMA - LOT 3.3”. Geostroy AD is a partner in the consortium together with GBS Infrastructure Construction AD, Patstroy-92 AD and Glavbolgarstroy AD.

The road section of LOT 3.3 between the towns of Kresna and Sandanski is 23.624 km long. It is located in close proximity to the Struma River and the existing E79 road and Sofia-Kulata railway.

The project is funded under the new Operational Programme “Transport and Transport Infrastructure” 2014-2020 and will be executed in accordance with FIDIC’s Conditions of Contract - Yellow Book. The Contractor is preparing detailed technical designs and drawings. The works are scheduled to start at the beginning of 2016 construction season and are to be completed within a three-and-a-half year period.
