BNB commences the construction of a new cash centre in Plovdiv
On 31 July 2019, an official groundbreaking ceremony took place to mark the start of construction of a regional Cash Centre of the Bulgarian National Bank (BNB) in the town of Plovdiv. The new Cash Centre is being built on the territory of Trakia Residential District and is intended to provide high quality, security and efficiency of cash operations on the territory of South Bulgaria and particularly in Plovdiv region. The project is financed entirely by BNB and the awarded contractor is Consortium DZZD Trakia BNB comprising Kalistratov Group OOD and Geostroy AD - two leading companies in the construction sector in Bulgaria.
The event was attended by a number of special guests including BNB Governor Mr. Dimitar Radev and BNB Deputy Governor Mr. Kalin Hristov, Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality M.Eng. Ivan Totev and Mayor of Trakia Residential District Mr. Kostadin Dimitrov, His Eminence Bishop Arseniy of Znepol, representatives of Consortium DZZD Trakia BNB: M.Eng. Nina Stoyanova and M.Eng. Pavel Kalistratov - General Managers of Kalistratov Group OOD and PhD Eng. Vladimir Vutov – Executive Director of Geostroy AD, and other officials.
‘Cash servicing with banknotes and coins is a special activity, it is highly demanding. I strongly believe that our Cash Centre will meet the highest international requirements. The guarantee for this is vested in both the project and the builders’ quality,’ said Mr. Dimitar Radev, BNB Governor during the official ceremony. He expressed his sincere attitude to everyone who has contributed to launching the project.
The new BNB Plovdiv Cash Centre is expected to be put into operation by the end of 2020.
