June 2024
Eight Italian students from the State Technical Institute M. Buonarroti – Caserta attended practical training at Geostroy. The young people learned about the company’s activities and gained valuable hands-on knowledge of the processes involved in the construction of various projects. The budding professionals visited two building sites of Geostroy’s ongoing projects: a residential building and a metro station at Obelya railway stop where the company is currently executing design-build construction. As part of their on-the-job training, the students operated a drone to capture detailed aerial images of the construction sites and processed the data using specialized software provided by the Geodesy and Land Surveying Department at Geostroy AD.
‘I had the opportunity to work with new software, which will be very useful for me in the future,’ commented Francesca Pia Di Vico. Giovanni D’Onofrio described the internship at Geostroy as extremely valuable, noting that he and his classmates were able to observe various stages of project execution.
‘The inspiring visits to the construction sites and the chance to closely observe ongoing construction processes provided our students with in-depth and diverse learning experience,’ said Prof. Corrado D’Alessandro from the State Technical Institute M. Buonarroti – Caserta. ‘Thanks to the professionalism and expertise of Geostroy employees, our students were able to gain valuable insights through real-life practice.’ He emphasized that experiences like these are essential for preparing young people for their future careers and play a significant role in their professional development.
